Doesn’t this show net closed shorts relative to the previous day, while the short position adds newly opened shorts on the day of trading?

I believe the new shorts opened on the day of trading are tallied seperately, and then shorts closed comes off the previous days total, then you add the revised total plus the newly opened shorts together. I think…

I could be totally wrong but that’s how I’ve understood it. I think this was raised a while ago by a forum member.

I not only take the difference between the total short sales, but also include the daily newly opened gross short sales.

Example: (total shorts from 15.11.) - (total shorts from 16.11.) + (gross short sales from 16.11.)
